As I am still unpacking, and just knocked out a midterm monday night, I am a little drained to be blogging in any depth right now. Lucky for me (and you, too) there are others who are not so drained. There are some awesome conversations going on in a few different places right now. As such, I will simply refer you to their discussions instead of trying to come up with something equally profound.
Anthony Bradley is reviewing some statistics on how the educational system is failing boys across the country, and also how divorce effects boys well into adulthood emotionally and relationally. It is not a fun read, but one that is quite necessary and needed in our current cultural context.
Justin @ Politics and Religion is doing a killer series in analyzing Jesus in scripture and history. Part 2 just came out yesterday and details how Jesus fulfills biblical prophecy, and the statistical improbability of someone being able to do this (intentionally or not) at all. It has generated some great points on Judaism and Christianity’s interactions with each other. This guy seriously knows how to write.
De-Conversion, as always, has raised a good question concerning Lewis’ Trilemma debate. The conversation has been long and difficult, but certain foundational assumptions have come out in the process. I highly recommend reading the full commentary.
Also at De-Conversion, a debate on whether or not God is just an imaginary friend for adults has just begun. I imagine this one will be… fun…. It is a valid and legitimate question, but I’ve found that many questions such as this are not truly interested in the answer (that, or they have one decided upon in advance).
Peter @ Mere Humanity talks about a massive struggle he is having on the “front lines” overseas. There are some very encouraging developments, as well as a tragic struggle. Lend him your prayers and support. As a chaplain candidate, this struggle hits so close to home.
Lastly, you may have noticed a myriad of changes on here recently, including some things that don’t quite make sense. Expect a rather huge announcement about the future of this blog in the next few days. VERY exciting times are ahead! Stay tuned!
